Sheet Music in Sync for A Cappella and Barbershop Groups
Page Turner puts your group's chart on every singer's tablet and keeps everyone on the same page. One singer turns the page, and every screen turns with it, so the whole group stays together while you're still learning the arrangement.
How It Works for A Cappella Groups
- The music director, or any singer, uploads the arrangement as a PDF and becomes the leader.
- Singers scan the QR code, open the link, or type the six-character room code on the home page. There's no account to create or app to install.
- The leader turns pages with a tap, a swipe, or a Bluetooth pedal, and every singer's screen turns too. Anyone who arrives late starts on the current page.
- For a rehearsal with several songs, add each PDF to the room's set list. When the leader switches songs, everyone switches.
Setup Tips for A Cappella Groups
- Use the full arrangement. A cappella and barbershop charts usually show every part on one score, so the whole group can read the same PDF.
- Mark breaths, swipes, and tags for everyone. The leader can tap ☰ → Annotate and draw on the chart, and every singer sees the marks. See how to mark up sheet music.
- Let a singer lead from the front row. Anyone can lead, and with a Bluetooth pedal on the floor they can turn pages without breaking the arc.
- Jump to the tag by page number. When you run just the ending, the leader types the page number and every screen jumps there.
- Use it while you're learning the song. Most groups sing from memory on stage. Page Turner helps most in the weeks before, when everyone is still on the page.
- Save your contest or show set. In ☰ → Set List, tap Save This Set List, and start a new room with the same charts, in the same order, at the next rehearsal.
Questions From A Cappella Groups
Can the turns follow repeats and the tag?
Yes. The leader opens ☰ → Repeats & Jumps and types the pages in the order they're sung, and every singer's turns follow it. See repeats and codas in digital sheet music.
Does it play learning tracks?
No. Page Turner shows the chart only, so keep learning tracks in whatever app you use now. In rehearsal, it keeps everyone on the same page of the chart while you sing.
Can singers look ahead to their part?
Yes. A singer can swipe to peek ahead or back on their own screen without turning anyone else's, and it returns to the leader's page after 30 seconds.
What about singing outdoors or on a dim stage?
Full brightness helps in the sun, and Dark Stage in ☰ shows light notes on black under dim lights. See tablet sheet music on stage and outdoors. If the chart is a photo, convert it to a PDF first.
Before You Share Music
Only share arrangements your group has the rights to use. Many barbershop and a cappella arrangements are sold as one copy for each singer, so check what the license allows before sharing a PDF. Working from paper? See how to scan sheet music into a PDF.
