Sheet Music in Sync for School Bands, Orchestras, and Choirs
Page Turner puts the same score on every student's school iPad or Chromebook and turns the page for the whole class at once. Students join with a code, with no accounts, no app installs, and no names collected, and each room deletes itself the next day.
How It Works for School Ensembles
- The teacher uploads the score as a PDF and becomes the leader.
- Students scan the QR code or type the six-character room code. It works in Safari on iPads and in Chrome on Chromebooks.
- The teacher turns pages from their own device, and every student's screen follows, so nobody gets lost during a run-through.
- Add every piece for the class or the concert to the room's set list, and switch pieces for everyone with one tap.
Setup Tips for School Ensembles
- Put the QR code on the projector. Open Share on the leader's device and project it, or write the room code on the board.
- Use a full score, or a part for each section. Everyone can read one full score, or add a part for each section in ☰ → Set List → + Add a Part. Students choose their part when they join, and you switch pieces for the whole class.
- Student privacy. Students don't create accounts or enter names. Rooms and their PDFs are deleted automatically 24 hours after a piece was last added or shown. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- Let students make the notes bigger. Trim Margins in the room enlarges the music on small Chromebook and iPad screens.
- Plan for school Wi-Fi. Have students open the room at the start of class so every piece saves to their device.
- Use it for theory and sight-reading too. Project the leader's screen and turn through examples while the class follows on their own devices.
Questions From Music Teachers
Does IT need to install anything?
No. Page Turner runs in Safari on iPads and Chrome on Chromebooks, with no app or extension. If your district filters websites, check that thepageturner.app opens on a student device before the first class.
Can students look ahead without getting lost?
A student can swipe to peek ahead or back on their own screen, but only the teacher turns pages for the class. Tapping Back to the Leader returns them, and after 30 seconds it happens on its own, so nobody stays lost for long.
We have a mix of iPads and Chromebooks. Will that work?
Yes. Every device joins the same room in its browser, which is the main difference from app-based tools like forScore, which runs only on Apple devices. See how Page Turner compares with forScore and MobileSheets.
What if our music is on paper or in photos?
Scan it with a phone or a copier that saves PDFs, as in how to scan sheet music into a PDF. If you already have photos, convert the images to one PDF for free.
Before You Share Music
Only share music your school has the rights to use: public-domain works, music you own where the publisher allows digital copies, or works covered by your district's licenses. For free, legal repertoire, see where to find free sheet music.
