Sheet Music in Sync for Community Orchestras

Page Turner puts a section's part on every player's tablet and keeps the whole section on the same page. The principal turns the page, and every stand turns with it, so nobody misses an entrance fumbling for the next page.

How It Works for Community Orchestras

  1. The conductor or librarian uploads the score as a PDF and becomes the room's leader, then adds a part for each section in ☰ → Set List → + Add a Part, with that section's PDFs.
  2. Players scan the QR code, open the link, or type the six-character room code on the home page, then choose their part. There's no account to create or app to install.
  3. The room's leader sends each section's principal their part's link from Share → Lead a Part. The principal turns pages with a tap, a swipe, or a Bluetooth pedal, and every tablet in the section turns too. Anyone who arrives late starts on the current page.
  4. For a concert, add each piece to the room's set list in program order. When the room's leader switches pieces, every section switches.

Setup Tips for Community Orchestras

Questions From Community Orchestras

Can the turns follow the repeats in our parts?

Yes. Each part's leader opens ☰ → Repeats & Jumps and types the pages in the order they're played, and every stand follows through repeats, first and second endings, and D.S. markings. See repeats and codas in digital sheet music.

Can a player look ahead at a tricky passage?

Yes. Anyone following can swipe to peek ahead or back on their own screen without turning the section's page, and it returns to the leader's page after 30 seconds.

What about summer concerts outdoors?

Turn the brightness all the way up, keep tablets out of direct sun between pieces, and use holders that grip in the wind. The stage and outdoors guide covers glare, heat, and a gig-day checklist.

Some players already use forScore or MobileSheets. Is that a problem?

No. They can keep their libraries. A Page Turner room only needs a browser, so players on iPads, Android tablets, and laptops all follow the same principal. See how Page Turner compares with forScore and MobileSheets.

Before You Share Music

Only share parts your orchestra has the rights to use, such as public-domain works or music you've bought where the publisher allows digital copies. Rental parts often come with terms about copying, so check the rental agreement first. Working from paper? See how to scan sheet music into a PDF.
